Testing for Food Sensitivity (Allergy/Intolerance) in Adelaide

Testing for food allergies and intolerances can be a long and complicated process. Our Compatibility Test is a great place to start and gives you a comprehensive list of foods to avoid and foods that are safe. 

Food Compatibility Testing

If you have tried allergy or intolerance testing and have followed strict elimination diets in the past but are still having symptoms our Food Compatibility Test offers you something new. Our test is different in that we use a hair sample and we are looking for foods that may be causing or aggravating symptoms and ultimately preventing your body from healing. Many people will find they have a combination of food allergies and intolerances; you may know that you have a gluten or lactose intolerance but still suffer even though you avoid foods containing them. We test over 600 foods and household products and can give you a list of foods to avoid and foods that are safe. Most people will have up to 60% improvement of symptoms in just a few weeks.

What to expect

Firstly, a hair sample will be taken at your first consultation, and sent off for testing. The results are returned within 5 to7 working days and a second appointment will be arranged to discuss findings.

Based on the results, Linda will develop an eating plan to suit you. Food intolerances will be considered, and the use of therapeutic foods discussed, as well as the possible prescription of natural medicines to assist the healing process.

A third appointment takes place 4 weeks after commencing your new eating program, in which your symptoms and the treatment protocol is reviewed and discussed.

Long distance patients

Although we recommend visiting in person, alternatives are available.

  1. If you are able to travel to Adelaide, you can arrange to have your Food Compatibility test done beforehand, your first and second appointments can then be combined into one extended appointment.
  2. If you are unable to travel to Adelaide, consultations can be carried out over the phone or Skype.

Mail order system

This system allows you to undertake the Compatibility test without a naturopathic consultation. Simply download and print the  Compatibility PDF  and post us your hair sample and payment. Your test results will be posted to you and one of our customer service staff will be available to discuss the results and answer your questions.

    How do food allergies/sensitivities cause these problems?

    Food allergies/sensitivities cause the immune system to become overactive and produce excessive amounts of inflammatory mediators like histamine. Most medical practitioners do not understand that these inflammatory mediators can migrate to any area of the body causing inflammation in glands, joints, muscles, tendons, mucous membranes and skin and are the cause of many health problems. 

    Once this inflammation accumulates in a certain area, we give that inflamed area a name. In the joints it can cause or aggravate arthritic pains. In the respiratory tract it can cause or aggravate sinus, asthma and excess mucous. In the nervous system it can cause or aggravate headaches, migraine, depression, tiredness and add to ADHD.
